Top fashion brands of UK – Logos with style!

Back in the stone age, clothing wasn’t really given much significance. With the progress of mankind, the necessity of covering the human body was felt. But now this requirement has changed into more of a fashion affair. Nowadays, while buying apparel/footwear/accessories we run for famous fashion labels to gain status symbol.

Although among European designers, the Italian designers are known as the torch-bearers of fashion clothing, but UK has its own share of renowned fashion brands. A world famous UK fashion brand example is “FCUK” … a renowned label acclaimed by UK fashion brand “French Connection”.

Here are 15 of UK’s most prestigious fashion brands and their logo designs with a brief account.

Dorothy Perkins
Established in 1909 under the name H. P. Newman, this brand altered its name to Dorothy Perkins in 1919. It is a large British women’s clothing retailer, basically working in the United Kingdom.
The Coast was set up in 1996 and became a successful UK occasion wear brand for women. Coast deals in clothing, footwear, jewelry & other accessories.
The Burton fashion label was set up in 1903 by Montague Burton in Chesterfield as a high street menswear brand. It deals in both formal & informal clothing, footwear & accessories.
Ben Sherman
Founded in 1963 by Arthur Bernard Sugarman, this brand has its roots in Brighton, UK. It caters casual clothing line for men, women, youths, and children.
Beginning as a menswear label in 1996, Addict has grown into an urban brand of UK featuring original street wear clothing for men and women.
Next was setup in 1864 by Joseph Hepworth in Leeds as “Joseph Hepworth & Son”. It is well known for its wide range of self-labeled & branded products for men, women & kids.
Lyle & Scott
Lyle & Scott was established in 1874 in the Scottish town of Hawick by William Lyle and Walter Scott. It specializes in golfing knitwear, footwear and other casual clothing
Named after the 1960 scooters, Lambretta Clothing is a British clothing company formed in 1997. They are presently the third largest fashion brand in the UK.
Marks & Spencer
Marks & Spencer (M&S) is a renowned British retail brand. It is the largest clothing retailer in the United Kingdom and the 43rd largest retailer in the world.
Lk. Bennett
L.K.Bennett is a luxury women’s fashion brand of UK found in 1990 by Linda Kristin Bennett . It was originally created to produce “typically English fashion”, but now deals in clothing, shoes and accessories.
Jaeger is a UK based high-end fashion brand dealing in menswear and women swear. It was formed in 1884 by Lewis Tomalin.
Reiss is a prize winning fashion brand of UK founded by David Reiss. The brand deals in men’s and women’s attire. British Style Awards named Riess as “Fashion Retailer of the Year” in 2003.
Frence Connection
French Connection is most famous for the logo “FCUK” as its brand. It was founded in 1972 by Stephen Marks in UK to create elegant and stylish apparel that appealed to a wide market.
Blue Inc
Blue Inc, based in Walthamstow, London, first appeared in 1997 as a menswear retailer supplying the latest street & contemporary apparel. It is a retail chain of over 40 men’s fashion stores across the UK.
Burberry is a luxury fashion house of UK found in 1856, dealing in apparel, perfumes, and other fashion accessories. It is most popular for its unique tartan pattern.

    These are truly some of the top most fashion brand of the UK market…personal favorites would be Ben Sherman, NEXT, Marks & Spenser and of course FCUK. But don’t you think that most of these fashion brands need a logo redesign?

    Sweet…this post made me remind of the many fashion brands i used to wear but ahve now discontinued to use them… can say why :S but i guess im more of a person who likes to try the latest in the house..not much of a brand loyalist so i guess that might explain why i dont wear any of the above fashion brands now.

    The logo for Ben Sherman and Lambretta are col though! :)

    Paul Smith? Barbour? Hackett? Joules? my god….you have left out the best actual designers.

    Blue Inc is just a cheap jump on the band wagon brand, their shops are always packed full of clothes but have no customers.
