Hadopi Logo breach: Anti-logo pirates accused of logo theft!!

The Sarkozy Government is once again in the lime light as another bombshell has dropped on its much blemished credibility. Just moments after the French anti-piracy agency “Hadopi” launched its latest campaign against Internet piracy and got wedged in a logo design piracy itself.

Another “faux pas” delivered by the Sarkozy Government:

The incident is just the latest in a series of embarrassing copyright mistakes by the Sarkozy government, which has strongly supported some of the harshest anti-piracy measures in Europe. Last year Sarkozy’s party was caught out after it illicitly used music from American band MGMT at an event and on its videos without the band’s consent. It was also found to be illegally copying DVDs of a documentary about the French leader.

Hadopi bashfully regrets the blunder:

The Hadopi agency unveiled its new company logo at a ceremony presided over by French culture minister Frédéric Mitterrand, who said that the agency "finally had a face". The face soon turned out to be red when Hadopi had to embarrassingly face charges over a corporate logo copyright infringement from the French Telecom giant “France Telecom- Orange”. Allegations were that the design agency Plan Creatif that created Hadopi’s corporate logo used the typography that originally belonged to France Telecom. The issue of greater concern was that the logo design had now been "tweaked".

I will SUE you…watchout!!

Hadopi has promptly issued an amnesty. While France Telecom-Orange has disapproved for any legal action but the creator of their logo design Jean-François Porchez seems to have other ideas. Jean, the brain-child behind the famous "Bonjour" font sold it exclusively to France Telecom. The font, popularly known as "Bienvenue", created by graphics designer Jean- François Porchez in 2000, was allegedly manipulated by Hadopi. Porchez has contacted his lawyer to file a lawsuit against the law-protecting agency. He said:

"My lawyer will contact the culture ministry and France Telecom in the hope of finding a solution."

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.

What do you think about it?
