Since 1928 till today, Coca-Cola has been the longest continuous corporate partner of the Olympic Games. To mark the 2012 Olympics to be hosted by London, Coca-Cola Great Britain has come up with a unique, limited-edition bottle with a distinctive photograph. Celebrity portrait photographer Rankin has collaborated with the company to create the iconic bottle. The image on the bottle shows a white rose being transferred from one hand to another. This is symbolic of the Summer Games being handed over from Beijing to London. The bottle’s shape and contour are the same iconic characteristic of Coke bottles. The image and colour of the bottle may be simple, but the symbolic message being conveyed is a powerful one. Many other artists and designers have partnered with the Coca-Cola Company previously, with their creations adorning the famous Coke bottle. Some of these include Andy Warhol, Sir Peter Blake, Manolo Blahnik and Matthew Williamson. |

Recently, a limited-edition aluminium bottle was also rolled out in Australia by Coca-Cola. It is a vibrant bottle with red, yellow, blue, black and green stripes on it. There’s also a picture of the Olympics Torch and the Olympics rings on the bottle, and it commemorates Coca Cola’s historic relationship with the games. The bottles will be launched across the Coca-Cola, Coke Zero and Diet Coke ranges in June. |
